Open to individuals ages 20–40 who are discerning a monastic vocation.
The Seeker's Weekend is intended for men and women who are actively discerning a possible monastic vocation and wish to explore whether God may be calling them to the monastic life at New Skete. Through prayer, worship, meals, presentations, and conversations with the monks and nuns, participants will experience the rhythm of our monastic communities firsthand while reflecting on their own vocational journey.
Participants will stay at the monastery and share in the rhythm of prayer, work, meals, and community life. Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities to meet with both the monks and nuns, ask questions, and learn about the history, mission, and work of New Skete.
During the weekend, participants will: Learn about the history and development of New Skete
The purpose of this weekend is not to make decisions, but to provide time and space for reflection, conversation, and a deeper understanding of the monastic vocation.
Accommodations
Participants will stay at the monastery for the duration of the weekend. Lodging and meals are provided.
