 The Seeker's Weekend is an opportunity for those who wish to learn more about monastic life at New Skete. Whether you are simply curious about the monastic path or are seeking to discern God's direction for your life, this weekend offers an opportunity to experience the life of our monastic communities firsthand.

Participants will stay at the monastery and share in the rhythm of prayer, work, meals, and community life. Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities to meet with both the monks and nuns, ask questions, and learn about the history, mission, and work of New Skete.

During the weekend, participants will: Learn about the history and development of New Skete

• Attend presentations and discussions on Orthodox monastic life
• Meet with the monks and nuns and hear about their experiences of monastic living
• Learn about the work and ministries of both communities
• Participate in the daily cycle of worship
• Share meals with members of the monastic communities
• Visit both monasteries and learn about their unique histories and ministries
• Experience the balance of prayer, work, silence, and fellowship that shapes life at New Skete

 The purpose of this weekend is not to make decisions, but to provide time and space for reflection, conversation, and a deeper understanding of the monastic vocation.

Accommodations

Participants will stay at the monastery for the duration of the weekend. Lodging and meals are provided.

Through prayer, worship, conversation, and participation in the daily rhythm of the monastery, participants will have an opportunity to learn more about Orthodox monasticism and the life of the New Skete communities.
