☦ Seeker's Weekend — November 6-8, 2026

 Open to men and women ages 35–50 who are discerning a monastic vocation.

Seeker's Weekend offers an opportunity to explore whether God may be calling you to monastic life at New Skete. Through prayer, worship, meals, presentations, and conversations with the monks and nuns, participants will experience the rhythm of our monastic communities firsthand.

Participants will stay at the monastery and have opportunities throughout the weekend to ask questions, learn about the history, mission, and work of New Skete, and spend time in prayer and reflection.

During the weekend, participants will:

• Learn about the history and development of New Skete
• Attend presentations and discussions on Orthodox monastic life
• Meet with the monks and nuns and hear about their experiences of monastic living
• Learn about the work and ministries of both communities
• Participate in the daily cycle of worship
• Share meals with members of the monastic communities
• Visit both monasteries
• Experience the balance of prayer, work, silence, and fellowship that shapes life at New Skete

The purpose of the weekend is not to make decisions, but to provide time and space for prayerful reflection, conversation, and a deeper understanding of the monastic vocation.

Accommodations

Participants will stay at the monastery for the duration of the weekend. Lodging and meals are provided.

Who Should Attend?

Seeker's Weekend is intended for those who are seriously exploring a monastic vocation and are open to discerning whether life in one of the New Skete monastic communities may be part of God's call for them.
