Marc and Brother Christopher keep the pace moving and are entertaining as well as excellent teachers. A special thanks to Tom (of New Skete) for being a third instructor during the practical sessions. I really appreciated the format of classroom together, then hands-on sessions split into 3 groups, rotating the groups, mean we were able to work with Marc, Brother Christopher and Tom.
I look forward to applying what I learned, to my own dog training programs.
I recommend to all that they experience this once in a life time opportunity. Beyond the classroom time, is time spent with the monks. Being invited to join them for meals was an honor and the meals exceeded anything I have ever had at any of the training classes I have participated in.
Under the tutelage of the experts in e-collar dog training, I have added a new skill to my list of services.
It is well worth the investment.

Having read many dog-training books previously, I knew when we got our puppy that unique among dog trainers, Brother Christopher had my trust in both his deep knowledge of dog psychology and training as well as the temperament to oversee it gently and compassionately with our precious, new pup. My only challenge was deciding between sending Aspen away for the 2.5-week Board-and-Train or joining her for the in-person e-Collar workshop with Brother Christopher and Marc Goldberg. Ultimately I decided to do both to give Aspen a head start in training while my family traveled abroad for a couple weeks, then return with her a few weeks later to train myself to help her be the best family and service dog she could possibly be.
While Aspen was a relatively well-trained puppy when she joined the New Skete team for her Board and Train, she returned much more responsive and consistent in her off-leash recalls and place commands. This improvement and obvious joy in her training were well worth the investment, and the mental peace of knowing she was at New Skete with a team I fully trusted was priceless while we traveled far away.
While I am grateful to have sent Aspen to New Skete’s Board and Train, I found the e-Collar workshop possibly even more beneficial with its first-hand training opportunity with the most trusted experts in their field. I relished our time away together at the monastery and staying in nearby beautiful Manchester, Vermont, and I loved watching Aspen advance her training to be very consistent off leash, heeling at my leg, which had been her biggest training challenge as she likes to pull ahead. We just returned from our first cross-country with her flying with us as my son’s service dog, and we would not have been able to do that without the support of Brother Christopher and his New Skete team. Thank you!
P.S. I miss your scones and cookies. :)

I had the pleasure of attending an E Collar training workshop at New Skete last September. I chose to register as an auditor, and I was happy with my decision.
As an auditor, as opposed to a participant who brought his or her dog to work with, I was able to give my full attention to the the two wonderful presenters. I was treated exactly the same as the others, but was truly able to relax, listen, and absorb the new information without the distraction of attending to, and managing my dog.
By observing the other dog/handler teams, I could easily see how progress was being made, and how each dog was gradually introduced to the new equipment, and worked through the program.
The auditor option was also more economical, and I did not feel that I missed anything. I would do it again!
